At Wilston Physiotherapy, ‘hands on’ massage therapy is an essential service for all our treating therapists. Massage is one of the oldest and simplest forms of therapy to relieve stress, rejuvenate and maintain optimal health. Not only does it feel amazing, it works on the soft tissues (muscles, ligament, and tendons) to help improve physical function.
We are very fortunate at our clinic to have in our employ the skilled and experienced massage therapist, Timm Eu. Timm has undergone extensive massage training at the Endeavour College of Natural Therapies and has completed a course in Eastern Acupuncture. He has also recently completed a dry needling course and often uses this technique within his massage sessions. Timm has a large following of dedicated clients that regularly benefit from his massages (relaxation, remedial and sports).Massage times range from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Our physiotherapists are also very skilled at massage and are happy to deliver all types of massage therapy. This is a major point of difference at our clinic. Once you have recovered from an acute injury, your physiotherapist will discuss with you what your maintenance regime will entail. Often this will involve some form of regular massage therapy. Your physiotherapist can decide whether this maintenance can be effectively managed by Timm or whether you need to stay with a physiotherapist who has a clearer understanding of the nature of your injury and can direct the massage accordingly.
