
Jason Clarke
Senior Physiotherapist
Jason Clarke is an experienced physiotherapist with over 16 years of clinical experience across private practice and elite sport, with a particular focus on complex musculoskeletal and spinal conditions. He holds a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science and a Master of Physiotherapy and is in the final months of completing his Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, which will provide eligibility for APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist titling.
Jason has developed expertise in the assessment and management of spinal pain, disc pathology, nerve-related symptoms and persistent musculoskeletal conditions. He particularly enjoys working with people who have ongoing or complex problems, including those who have not responded as expected to previous treatment, are seeking a second opinion, or would like to explore conservative, non-surgical management options.
Jason began his career working in elite sport before developing a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He later co-founded a physiotherapy practice in Melbourne, where he focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care for a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. Alongside his clinical work, Jason established a graduate physiotherapy development program and continues to mentor early-career physiotherapists, supporting their development in clinical reasoning, assessment and treatment planning. He has also delivered education to General Practitioners on the assessment and management of conditions including lumbar disc pathology, sciatica and rotator cuff-related shoulder pain.
A major area of Jason’s practice is the assessment and rehabilitation of lower back and neck conditions, particularly disc-related presentations including disc bulges, protrusions and herniations. He also has a strong interest in persistent spinal pain and nerve-related symptoms, where symptoms can often be influenced by a combination of tissue sensitivity, movement, loading, lifestyle and other individual factors. His approach aims to help patients better understand their condition while developing a clear and practical pathway back to movement, exercise and the activities that matter to them.
Jason also regularly works with shoulder and hip conditions, tendon injuries, persistent pain and pre- and post-operative rehabilitation. With a background in Exercise and Sports Science as well as Physiotherapy, exercise and progressive strength rehabilitation are central to his approach. Where appropriate, Jason enjoys helping patients understand their options and determine whether surgery is necessary or whether a well-structured conservative rehabilitation program may be appropriate.
Having personally recovered from a significant spinal injury and long-standing nerve pain, Jason understands how disruptive and frustrating these conditions can be. This experience has strongly influenced the way he practises and reinforced the importance of listening, providing a clear explanation and building confidence in movement.
Jason’s approach combines current evidence, detailed clinical assessment and more than 16 years of clinical experience. He values taking the time to understand each person’s presentation, concerns and goals, particularly when symptoms are persistent or the diagnosis and treatment pathway have not been straightforward.
His aim is to provide patients with a clear understanding of their problem and a practical, individualised plan to help them return to the activities that are important to them.
Outside the clinic, Jason is a passionate golfer and enjoys returning to the Snowy Mountains to spend time with family.
